The equipment need

Cattle and poultry farms supported an electricity bill of between $22,900–$45,800per year, which was growing steadily.

The installation of a on-site electricity use solar installation represented an investment of between $34,400–$57,300, which was difficult to draw from operating liquidity.

The expected savings of $9,170–$11,500per year were only realized after commissioning, while the expenditure was immediate.

  • Inverters and protective boxes
  • Fixing structures on livestock building
  • Production supervision

The support described in the project

We financed the leasing plants over 72 months, without any initial input.

The first rental payment was based on the date of commissioning of the facility, so that the refund starts with the generation of electricity.

We have scaled the rental payments so that they remain below the expected annual savings on each site.

The reported operational outcome

The farms have equipped their buildings without using their bank borrowing capacity, reserved for their production tool.

The business is self-financed in the first year, with savings on the electricity bill covering the rental payment.

Applying the experience to a new project

Use this case to identify the equipment, timing and ownership questions relevant to your own investment. The historical scope and term are specific to the project described. For a new U.S. project, identify the contracting business, installation state, supplier quote and preferred use period; available structures require a separate assessment.
