The equipment need

The operator was deploying bikesharing and carsharing services for large accounts and communities.

Each deployment required the acquisition of equipment well upstream, before the first U.S. dollars (approximate equivalent) of revenue from the operating contract.

The assets already in place were a significant part of the company's own funds.

The growth of the order book required recurrent funding capacity and not an agreement on a case-by-case basis.

  • Self-service electric bicycles
  • Reception stations and charging stations
  • Car sharing vehicles
  • Supervision and remote management systems

The support described in the project

We started with a sale-leaseback on the equipment already in operation, in order to restore the company's liquidity.

A long-term lease line was then opened to finance future deployments without re-reading a complete file each time.

The durations of 48 to 60 months have been aligned with those of the operating contracts signed with the principals.

The funded perimeter covers bicycles and vehicles as well as stations, terminals and supervisory systems.

The reported operational outcome

The leasing-back has released more than $1,150,000 of unblocked liquidity in assets already deployed.

Lease payments are now backed up by operating contract revenues over equivalent periods.

The new deployments are financed by the water, without any advance of the operator's liquidity.

The capacity to respond to community tenders was strengthened by this dedicated line.

Applying the experience to a new project

Use this case to identify the equipment, timing and ownership questions relevant to your own investment. The historical scope and term are specific to the project described. For a new U.S. project, identify the contracting business, installation state, supplier quote and preferred use period; available structures require a separate assessment.
