The equipment need
The company wanted to equip its parking areas with photovoltaic shaders to produce some of its electricity and to house its employees' vehicles.
The amount of the project represented a heavy investment, difficult to self-finance without weighing on the other expenditure items for the year.
The installer wanted to be able to present a package offer combining equipment, installation and financing in the same commercial proposal.
The timing was constrained by the timing of the connection and the need to freeze the prices of the components before ordering.
- Structures of metal shades
- Photovoltaic panels
- Inverters and connection boxes
- Charging stations for electric vehicles
- Production supervision and monitoring system
The support described in the project
We have structured a 84-month leasing covering the entire installation, from shade structures to the supervisory system.
The long term was based on the lifetime of the equipment in order to align the rental payments with the expected energy savings.
A release schedule has been put in place to monitor the progress of the project and the connection to the network.
The associated charging stations have been integrated into the same file, thus avoiding the proliferation of contracts and interlocutors.
The reported operational outcome
The facility was put into operation without the need for the company to raise any significant cash flow.
The purchase option at the end of the contract leaves the company with control over its installation over the long term.
The installer now has a reproducible funding structure to present its shade projects with their integrated funding.
Applying the experience to a new project
Use this case to identify the equipment, timing and ownership questions relevant to your own investment. The historical scope and term are specific to the project described. For a new U.S. project, identify the contracting business, installation state, supplier quote and preferred use period; available structures require a separate assessment.
