The equipment need

A company specializing in the outsourced production of orthopaedic soles wanted to equip partner podiatrists with a 3D scanner with plantar prints.

This equipment conditions the digital transmission of fingerprints to the production plant.

Its acquisition cost hampered the participation of practitioners, many of whom were in individual practice with limited investment capacity.

Therefore, a solution was needed to transform this purchase into a monthly operating expense.

  • 3D plantar fingerprint scanner
  • Computer piloting station
  • Scanning and transmission software

The support described in the project

We have put in place a 48-month equipment lease on the 3D scanner, its cockpit and the scanning software.

The funding structure has been aligned to remain compatible with the cost structure of an independent podiatry practice.

A purchase option at the end of the contract was provided to allow the practitioner to choose to keep his or her equipment.

The application was read in a standardized format, reproducible for each new practitioner in the network.

The reported operational outcome

Practitioners access the scanner without using their liquidity or undermining their bank borrowing capacity.

The network now has a homogeneous financing offer to present to each new partner firm.

Applying the experience to a new project

Use this case to identify the equipment, timing and ownership questions relevant to your own investment. The historical scope and term are specific to the project described. For a new U.S. project, identify the contracting business, installation state, supplier quote and preferred use period; available structures require a separate assessment.
