The equipment need
The property had purchased all the kitchen and bar equipment needed to open its terrace, for an amount of between $57,300–$115,000.
This self-financing had severely eroded the liquidity available just before a season which, on the contrary, required stocks and recruitment.
Management wanted to know what parts needed to be assembled to investigate a file of equipment already paid for and installed.
- Stainless steel furniture and worktops
- Refrigerated back-bars
- Professional dishwashers
- Equipped cocktail station
The support described in the project
We have set up a sale-leaseback, also called a lease sale: the equipment already paid is bought by the financial agency and then re-rented to the institution.
The application was examined on the basis of invoices paid for the equipment, the date of purchase and the company's latest annual accounts.
The funded perimeter covers stainless steel furniture, refrigerated back-bar equipment, professional dishwashers and the cocktail station, grouped in a single contract over 48 months.
The business was never interrupted: the equipment remained in place and in service throughout the business.
The reported operational outcome
The institution recovered in cash the equivalent of the amount it had disbursed, redeployed to its stock and seasonal staff.
The transaction did not consume any bank credit lines, the guarantee being based on the equipment itself.
The list of documents to be provided was communicated from the first exchange, which allowed the study to be completed without going back.
Applying the experience to a new project
Use this case to identify the equipment, timing and ownership questions relevant to your own investment. The historical scope and term are specific to the project described. For a new U.S. project, identify the contracting business, installation state, supplier quote and preferred use period; available structures require a separate assessment.
